Sunnie Kanani was born on 11 November 1973, England. She studied a BA Hons degree at Southampton University from 1996 to 1999 and graduated later that year.
Her paintings consist primarily of oils on canvas, and relate to the power and mystery of the ocean through darkness. Inspired by the enchanting atmosphere offered by the rhythmic lure of the tide, the motion of the clouds across the moon, and the hypnotic obscurity of the horizon, Sunnie realises, that it is only in this division, she is absolutely free.
